2006 Regional Flood Warning Phase V Raingauges
Project undertaken on behalf of the Environment Agency – Thames Region in conjunction with Mowlem PLC and Halcrow Group Ltd which comprised the Supply, Construction, Installation and Commissioning of 23 River Level Monitoring Stations with Submersible Transmitters, 3 x Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge Stations West Area 3 locations RGW5 to RGW7 Pre-fabricated GRP Stilling Well sumps were utilised with 300mm Twinwall Risers to ground level with a pre-cast slab complete with Dipping Porthole and EA Benchmark. Similarly Gaugeboards were either of the driven T Iron types or wall mounting. Rain Gauges were constructed to a standard drawing comprising an ELE Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge and Stainless Steel Octapent Monthly Check Gauge |

RGW7 YattendonThe Yattendon Estate is the amalgamation of several smaller estates acquired by the first Lord Iliffe between 1925 and 1940. In 1955, Yattendon Estate was formed to hold the land and run the in-hand farms. Yattendon Farms was amalgamated with the Estates company in 1975 and on 1st January 2003, the entire business became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yattendon Investment Trust. The existing rain gauges were located in the grassed area of the Estate offices The daily gauge is read and maintained by the Estate |

The new EA equipment was moved into a field to the right of the house and a new fence constructed to prevent livestock entering the area |

The old location can just be seen through the Yew hedge, the Telemetry Panel being the Regional Plug n Play Standard arrangement |
